ALLAN WARE

CLARINET

Allan Ware, born in Raleigh, North Carolina, performs regularly as a soloist with orchestras and is Associate Professor for Clarinet and Chamber Music at the City Conservatory of Osnabrück, and teaches master classes in the US and Europe. He was awarded a Fulbright Grant for two years to study with Prof. Jost Michaels in Detmold, Germany, and is the winner of numerous prizes in international music competitions. In 1983, he was selected in the McKenzie-Ware Duo by the “Arts America” Program of the National Endowment for the Arts of the US government to represent American musical culture abroad. With this program, Allan Ware has performed concerts, radio and television broadcasts, and given master classes in more than 30 countries, including the former Soviet Union, countries in Africa and the Middle East. He is a regular performer as a soloist/recitalist, with the Salzburger Soloists, the Saint-Clair Trio, and the Bremen Clarinet Quartet, among others. He is the editor of the Boehm-System version Jost Michaels Systematic Method for Clarinet Finger Technique, published in 2001 by Zimmermann Musikverlag in Frankfurt. He is artistic director of the “Sonntagskonzerte auf dem Gertrudenberg” in Osnabrück, Germany, which has presented over 100 concerts in the last 20 years.
