Nancy Billmann regularly performs with groups in the greater New York area, including New York City Opera, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, and Stamford Symphony. She was a member of the Dorian Wind Quintet for thirteen years and has played with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Solid Brass, New York Chamber Ensemble, and Borealis and Zephyros Wind Quintets. She can be heard on numerous recordings and jingles and performed in the Broadway production The Producers. Ms. Billmann has performed at the Cape May Summer Festival, OK Mozart, Aspen, Banff, and Tanglewood, where she played under Leonard Bernstein. She is a winner of the American Horn Competition and several International Horn Society Performance Competitions, and has been featured as horn soloist with the Oregon East Symphony, WQXR in New York, and Wisconsin Public Radio. She has been a clinician and recitalist at the University of Texas and the University of Wisconsin, where she was one of a handful of UW alumni invited to take part in a project recording the compositions of horn faculty member Douglas Hill. She has been on the faculties of the Festival Institute at Round Top, Tanglewood Institute, and maintains an active private teaching studio. Ms. Billmann holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin and Juilliard.
