PASCAL ARCHER

CLARINET

Originally from Quebec, Canada, Pascal Archer is a graduate of the Montreal Conservatory, University of Montreal, Indiana University and Manhattan School of Music.

Mr. Archer is Principal Clarinet of the Long Island Philharmonic, Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic and Princeton Symphony. He also performs regularly on the Broadway Show “South Pacific” at Lincoln Center. Additionally, he is on faculty at the Manhattan School of Music Precollege Division and a teaching artist for the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and the America’s Society.

First Prize winner of the Canadian Music Competition in both 1996 and 1997, Mr. Archer has performed on Canadian television and radio on several occasions. He has also appeared as a soloist with the Montreal Youth Symphony, Danbury Symphony Orchestra, Manhattan School of Music Chamber Sinfonia, and the New World Symphony.

Mr. Archer has attended several prestigious music festivals in the US and abroad, including the Marlboro Music Festival, the UBS Verbier Orchestra, Spoleto USA Festival, Pacific Music Festival, Monadnock Music Festival, Sun Valley Summer Symphony and Colorado Music Festival. Preceding his residency in New York, he lived for four years in Miami as a member of the New World Symphony, America’s Orchestral Academy. He has had the opportunity to work with such conductors as Charles Dutoit, James Levine, Kurt Masur, Mstislav Rostropovitch, David Robertson and Michael Tilson Thomas.
