SARAH JOYCE

CELLO

Sarah Joyce is studying at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, studying with William Butt. She is principal cellist of both the R.I.A.M Symphony and Chamber Orchestra, which have toured the USA and Asia. She has been a member of the National Youth Orchestra for many years and has also appeared as a guest cellist with Scotland’s NYO. From a young age Sarah attended both Concorda Chamber Music and the "Corso Internazionale Di Musica Da Camera" in Torino. In 2008 she received a scholarship to attend the Apple Hill Chamber Music Festival in the U.S.A.
Some recent achievements include performances cello Concertos of both Haydn and Elgar, and has won awards such as the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Scholarship, The Feis Ceoil Bach Prize, Elsner and Chamber music Cup. She has participated in masterclasses with cellists such as Hannah Roberts, Natalie Clein, Guy Johnston, Steven Doane, and Marc Coppey.
