TODD MEEHAN

PERCUSSION

Todd Meehan is the Assistant Professor of Percussion and Director of Percussion Studies at the Baylor University School of Music. He has performed throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan as a soloist, orchestral, and chamber musician. Todd currently performs contemporary percussion chamber music with the Meehan/ Perkins Duo and is the Principal Timpanist of the Waco Symphony Orchestra. He has commissioned new works for percussion by composers David Lang, Paul Lansky, Charles Wourinen, John Supko, Robert Morris, and Alejandro Viñao, among others. Notable performance credits include Weill Recital Hall, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Ojai Music Festival, the Bang on a Can Marathon, Miller Theater, the Stone, the International Festival-Institute at Round Top, the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, and the Percussive Arts Society International Convention. Todd earned his Doctor of Musical Arts and Bachelor of Music degrees from the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas at Austin, and his Master of Music degree from Yale University. He performs on Pearl Drums and Adams Musical Instruments, Vic Firth sticks and mallets, and Black Swamp accessories.
